How to Calculate Bricks for a Wall

Estimating bricks is essential for budgeting and planning. A precise calculation prevents material shortages and minimizes waste.

The Formula

The calculation follows these steps:

  1. Calculate Wall Area: Length × Height.
  2. Calculate Brick Face Area: (Brick Length + Mortar) × (Brick Height + Mortar).
  3. Divide: Wall Area ÷ Brick Face Area.
  4. Add Waste: Multiply total by 1.05 (for 5% waste).
